Eldership

Pastor Todd Hall

Todd is the lead Pastor of Exchange Church.
He along with his wife of 35 years, Laurel, formed a team to plant and establish the church in 2009. Prior to this, Todd was a fruit grower who thrived in the satisfaction of seeing delicious fruit grown for eating.

Todd and Laurel love to be involved with their family of Brianna, Chelsea, Gabbi, and Elliott, with all their sporting pursuits including netball, basketball, and football. Above all this, Todd loves to see the gospel go deep into people’s lives to grow a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. For Todd, life is found, when you find Jesus.

Stephen Hickingbotham

Secretary

Stephen has been married to Cathy for 40 years, having three adult children who also profess a faith in Jesus. Stephen became a Christian in his youth at 15, since then he has been passionately serving the Lord in multiple ministries.

The last 37 years Stephen has run a ministry supporting the wider church in systems development. He has a passion to use his gifts for the Lord’s glory and is currently serving in a variety of ways at Exchange Church including Secretary of EC, Board member, EC web site, Church media, Elder, systems devlopment and various other special projects.

Tom Briggs

Tom grew up in the Goulburn Valley where he was raised within a Christian family who instilled strong values in him from a young age.

Now as a husband to Emily and father of three, he prioritises raising his children in the ways of the Lord and seeing them walk out the plan God has for their life.

From a young age Tom has served within different areas of the church body and regularly leads worship and plays drums at Exchange Church services. Tom currently serves as an Elder & Board member.

While Tom is a qualified carpenter who juggles work life, fatherhood and Monday night basketball, his best days are the ones spent fishing.

Board Members

James Gibbs

James is married to Hannah and they have two young children. He has been attending Exchange Church for 7 years and is a member of the Exchange Church Board. He loves His Saviour, Jesus Christ, and desires to serve Him in everything he does.

James runs a farm with his wife Hannah. He is interested in old farm machinery and Holden cars, and would love to work on some restoration projects in the future. In his spare time he enjoys four wheel driving, camping and fishing.

Keith Freeburn

Men's Ministry

Keith is married to Naomi and together they have three children, Jasmine, Jacob and Bethany. At Exchange Church he leads a connect group and the men’s ministry and also serves as a member of the church board.

Keith grew up in Northern Ireland and has spent over 15 years in education, teaching in both the UK and Australia. He currently teaches IT and Business at Shepparton Christian College. He enjoys swimming, running, and playing a variety of sports.

Diane Bethell

Team Roster / Admin

Diane is married to David and they have three adult children and five grandchildren.

Since joining Exchange Church in 2020, Diane has enjoyed the fellowship with the family of Christians.

Diane has welcomed the opportunity to serve the Lord and the Church in administration.

She has an interest in arts and crafts and enjoys spending time with her family.

Emily Briggs

Women's Ministry

Emily is the leader of our women’s ministry at Exchange Church. She enjoys the Christ centred, bible teaching focus of Exchange.

She has a desire to see women connect in a community where they are empowered and encouraged to learn and grow in their faith and their knowledge of the Lord, to know their worth as a daughter of the King.

Emily is married to Tom and has three children. She was born in Shepparton, and works as a physiotherapist.

She enjoys spending time with her family, playing a variety of sports and getting creative in her sewing room.

James Fenby

Young Adults

Raised in a Christian home and serving in church since the age of 11, James has served in Children’s, Youth and Young Adults Ministries most his life.

James loves playing drums and tinkering on bass, doing all things production; and filming videos in his spare time when he’s not camping.

He’s passionate to co-lead the Exchange Young Adults Ministry alongside Jess and see the Young Adults build strong relationships, both within the church and with God.

Rob Finster

Connect Groups

Rob loves the many and varied growing connections in Exchange Church and the wider community. He enjoys helping others integrate and find true joy in knowing Jesus.

Rob and his wife, Julie, have four children and seven grandchildren.

He serves as a Connect Group Leader. Before EC, Rob trained and studied theology at Christ College Sydney and Moore College.

He continues to learn from others and is trying to stay slim.

Elliott Hall

Youth

Elliott is the youth leader, musician and connect and grow group leader, who loves to see people come into relationship with Jesus and deepen their faith in him. He is passionate about evangelism and witnessing the transformation that takes place when people meet Jesus.

He has been at the church since it started with his parents and has loved watching the church grow throughout the years, and looks forward to what God will continue to do through the church.

He works as a full-time Physical Education teacher at Shepparton Christian College and thoroughly enjoys being around the younger generation impacting them in education and for the kingdom.

Gabbi Hall

Hospitality

Gabbi is a vibrant worship leader and looks aftert the Team Roster for Exchange Church. She is the daughter of Pastor Todd and Laurel Hall and has been with the church since it was founded in 2011.

She has lived in Shepparton her whole life and works full-time as materials planner at Freedom Foods UHT plant Shepparton. Gabbi is very passionate about reaching those who have not heard the gospel in Greater Shepparton.

She has chosen Exchange as her home church as the teachings and music are rooted from the one truth God has graciously given us, his word the Bible.

Laurel Hall

Music / Pastoral

Laurel was raised in a Christian home with
her whole family loving and serving Jesus passionately. Married to Todd, together they have 4 children.

A gospel driven desire caused her to start a
Mops group 20 years ago, then 10 years ago she helped plant Exchange Church alongside her husband.

Music is a big part of their family and she loves singing, playing piano and guitar, so leading worship through music at EC is a natural ministry.

Some of her interests are sport, board games, food and having fun outdoors in the sun. She loves the country life.

Sean Huggan

Kids Church

Sean has been in ministry since 2016, working with youth, families and kids for the Lord.

Sean love’s adventures and outings, but love nothing more than Jesus! Sean is enthusiastic about making Jesus known to all people and seeing them receive eternal salvation which comes only from the Lord.

Cath Stone

Media

Cath serves as Worship Media Co-ordinator. Cath and her husband Jeff have worshipped at Exchange Church since 2016.

Cath grew up in a Christ focused home and became a Christian as a young teenager. While attending University, Cath resolved to follow and worship God with her whole heart.

Cath has served and led in various ministries in the churches she has attended. Cath and Jeff have 4 adult children and 5 grandchildren.

Jess Stone

Young Adults

Jess is a co-leader of Exchange Young Adults and is part of the music team. She is passionate about helping people connect and journey through life, as a family in Christ.

Jess has many years of experience working with youth and young adults. After completing her degree as a teacher, she returned to Shepparton and teaches in a local school.

Jess enjoys music, playing the keyboard and singing. In her spare time, she loves to draw and read a good book. She is always up for a chat and enjoys hanging out with family and friends.

Sharon Thomas

Video

Sharon coordinates the video production team and serves in various ways to ensure that both those attending in person and those unable to, can experience the service seamlessly.

Outside of church, she is a local optometrist and also plays the violin in the Goulburn Valley Concert Orchestra. When Sharon finds spare
time, she enjoys catching up with family and friends or relaxing with a good book.
