EC Youth

Growing the next generation of disciples

From Our EC Youth Leader

Hello! My name is Elliott!

We are an enthusiastic bunch who are super keen to see young people thriving in all the plans and purposes that God has for them! We would love to see them connecting with one another, growing in confidence within their own character, having fun, and establishing a powerful and rich relationship with God. We believe that strong, Bible-based teaching is central to this growth, and we’re committed to helping young people understand God’s Word and apply it to their daily lives.

We seek to do this through our exciting and dynamic Friday night youth gatherings—where teaching, worship, and community come together—as well as through intentional, personal relationships. We aren’t interested in numbers just for the sake of it; we care deeply about each individual and want to make every relationship count!

About Our Beliefs

Our core values at EC Youth are in alignment with the principles God shows to be holy in the Bible. We desire to display love, respect, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, humility, peace and joy. As a leadership team, these values are rated incredibly high, and so we desire to lead by example as we teach these values from the Bible.

The culture of the EC Youth leadership group is one that seeks to glorify God in all facets of life, with the effect of that making its way through to the youth. This means we want to love others with a Christ-centred heart—looking at each individual as special in God’s eyes and caring deeply for both who they are now and who they are becoming. A key part of that care is helping our youth grow in their knowledge of God’s Word. We believe that solid, Bible-based teaching is essential to shaping lives for God’s purposes, and we are committed to grounding everything we do in Scripture, encouraging our youth to understand and live out the truth of the gospel.

All those who attend EC Youth are accepted for who God has uniquely created them to be. We have a wide range of personalities within EC Youth, yet we all accept and love one another, and each person is given the space to contribute without having to change what is so special and beautiful about themself. Whether you are outgoing or shy, a big talker or not, sporty or creative—there is a place for you at EC Youth to attend, grow, and feel at home!

Our vision is to see the youth connected to Jesus and growing in a rich relationship with Him, whilst having heaps of fun along the journey! We don’t look for perfection, because that’s just not possible, but we do seek ongoing teachability and humble hearts to follow the character of Jesus. This goes for our leadership team as well! We envision EC Youth as a place of community connection, joyful bonding and Christ-honouring behaviour.

A key part of this journey is helping our youth to grow through clear, faithful, and engaging teaching from God’s Word. We want every young person to not only feel loved and accepted, but also to be grounded in the truth of Scripture—learning how to live it out in their everyday lives. We believe that real transformation happens when the gospel shapes hearts, and that happens
best when biblical teaching and genuine relationships go hand in hand.

Each week we play heaps of fun games, enjoy bucket loads of yummy food, and we discuss the Bible together! Our teaching is centred on helping young people understand who Jesus is, what He has done, and how His Word shapes our everyday lives. We don’t just want them to know about God—we want them to know Him personally, and to grow in faith, wisdom, and confidence through His truth.

Amongst all that, the kids will make amazing friends—which we hope will last a lifetime!

"Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity."

Timothy 4:12
